The proponents and opponents to students taking part in part-time job both can list a variety of reasons to sustain their opinions.Either side could easily overwhelm another.The reason why the dispute can not reach to a contract is that their views to the phenomenon is different.The proponents are from the optimistic view and the opponents are from the pessimistic.Although they may partly agree with the another side’s opinion,they still hold out their position steadily.

 

The proponents argue that in the modern society,social experiences are very essential to one’s success in the long run,and part-time job just provide the opportunity to enter the real society.Through the process of participating the part-time job,independence and the sense of social responsibility can be edified,and the ability to adapt to the society and the interpersonal skill that can not be gained in school will be obtained.In addition,it is a good way to cultivate one’s frugality and to make one realize the difficulties of raising money.From the long run,one will inevitably enter society and attend the fierce competition,and part-time job can be recognized as a preparation to the future career and practice for one’s ability to survive and enhancement for one’s competency in the society.More important is that it gives students a gap to look into the rules such as politeness,cooperation,compromise,decision making and so on such that in the society.

 

The opponents do not think so,at least wholly.Their main points are that students’ sole task is to study hard and gain knowledge and skill in school which are ever more important and urgent to one’s future career.Part-time job interferes with students’ scheduled time and affects their study process and even make them fall behind of their school mates.Ideally speaking,one can squeeze his time to spend on part-time job,but in fact,one can hardly balance the school time and the job time.Due to the energy consumption in part-time job,that one can easily go fatigued in class exerts a negative impact on one’s ability to acquire knowledge and skill.Futhermore,students who are not mature enough to resist the social evils may be contaminated spiritually and become money oriented.Because the money earned in part-time job can support their luxurious consumption,students are apt to be too social to accommodate their school mates and susceptible to bad deeds.Like every coin has two sides,the experiences gained in part-time job can give students a wider horizon which is simultaneously followed by the misconception that it is no use attending the formal schooling education.

 

Generally speaking,one can take up part-time job without the absence of realizing its advantages and drawbacks and only in this situation one can reasonably allocate his time in school and job and only in this situation one can gain a good academic records and at the same time obtain a rich experiences.
